Lunch with Tony Tang in CityU's Bistro Lodge

On April 8th, 2026, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Tony Tang from the Singapore Management University (SMU), where he directs the RICELab (Rethinking Interaction, Collaboration and Engagement) research group. Prof. Luo Yuhan and two of our students joined us for a wonderful lunch at CityU’s Bistro Lodge.

Tony’s research spans human-AI interaction, mixed reality interfaces, ubiquitous computing, and AI/robot-supported activity — making for rich common ground with our own work at the Synteraction Lab. Over lunch, we had an energizing discussion in which Tony shared his hands-on experiences with Claude Code and AI development. It was both thought-provoking and inspirational.

It’s always a delight to connect with fellow HCI researchers in the region, and we look forward to future collaborations and exchanges. Stay tuned!
